44 Blueberry Hill, Mother's Day Dinner

It was Mother's Day, and being that Phoebe and Piper were new moms and that Patty was alive and in the village, Phoebe had decided that there needed to be a Halliwell family dinner today.

She had spent a great deal of the morning and early afternoon in the kitchen with her sister and they had been cooking most of that time. Phoebe was determined to make this a nice meal and a nice night, despite the pall of sadness that a lot of them were feeling.

Between trips from kitchen to the table, she made a couple of phone calls and had the guys get the twins set up in their high chairs so they could be at the family dinner, too.

Finally, the last dish was set down on the table and dinner was ready.

Paige bit her lip. "Well, Jake's leaving and moving back home. So, I decided to go with him."

"Why?" Patty face-palmed. "I mean, are you sure this is something you want to do?"

[identity profile] angelandwitch.livejournal.com 2009-05-11 02:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, I'm sure," Paige said. "I love it here and I love having you all around, but I want to see more of the world."

"Fair enough," Patty said slowly, still not quite liking the idea. "You'd better not forget about any of us, though."

"Like I could," Paige said. "I'll still visit and call and everything."

[identity profile] charmedmama.livejournal.com 2009-05-11 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"You better," Patty said firmly. "I expect handwavy calls every week, you know."

She didn't want to let her daughter go, really really didn't want to, but... like she could stop her? Plus Patty trusted Jake to keep her safe -- not that Paige needed the protection, but ssh, let Patty mother in her head -- which was the important thing.

Paige smiled and hugged her mom again. "I will call every week, I promise."

"Don't make me come hunt you down, little missy," Patty threatened as she returned the hug. She was smiling, though, so even if she wasn't quite all right with the idea yet, she would be given a little time.

[identity profile] angelandwitch.livejournal.com 2009-05-11 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
"I won't. Besides, Jake is worried that Piper will blow him up. He'll make sure I call."

[identity profile] charmedmama.livejournal.com 2009-05-11 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Patty couldn't help laughing at that. "Oh, poor Jake," she said, doing her best to stop laughing.

[identity profile] angelandwitch.livejournal.com 2009-05-11 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Paige grinned. "Yeah, well, I can't say I blame him for his concerns."

[identity profile] charmedmama.livejournal.com 2009-05-11 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"He's worried about her but not what I'd do to him?" And this was Patty pretending to be insulted.

"I think he's afraid of all of you, to be honest," Paige said. "But the blowing up thing is his biggest concern."

And it amused Paige to no end. She was an excellent girlfriend, really.
