Shattered (Back Story)
Jul. 2nd, 2007 08:23 amShe had cried until she had no more tears left to shed. After she had cried herself out, she had spent most of her time curled up in the high backed easy chair next to the window. She wouldn't set foot towards the bed, and had lost track of how many days it had been since she had slept. She just sat there, staring out the window, looking out, but not really seeing anything.
She was vaguely aware of the movements of her sisters and her nephews in and out of the rooms, but she couldn't bring herself to speak to any of them. She stayed there, locked in her silence... in her pain.
It was too much. It had been too damn much.
( They had been happy, so very happy. )
I cannot do this, she thought now as she continued to stare out the window. I cannot go on without them. I just can't.
