Phoebe was a stressed wreck. Cole and Anders kept trying to get her to sit and rest, but there was no way she could.

Piper was missing!

Paige and Savannah had come over last night and told her that Piper was missing. They had searched the house, the Coven and every other place they could think of to look, but there had been no sign of her sister.

"We have to figure out what happened," Phoebe told the group as she reached for the Book of Shadows. "We have to find --" As her hands closed around the book, Phoebe gasped, her body tensing.



She and Paige... someone appearing... demon... she starts a vanquish spell, but he uses powers like Paige's... takes the Book of Shadows away from her... fireball hitting Paige... "You have Piper to thank for this"... fireball hitting her... killing them... demon and Book of Shadows disappearing...



Phoebe came out of the premonition with a shocked cry.

Veronica knocked on the door, extremely worried about her friend after watching Cole's broadcast.

"Come in!" Phoebe called from the couch as she watched the boys "discuss".

"What can I do to help?" Veronica asked, walking into the house. "Also? Stop inviting people in without knowing who they are. You should know better, Phoebe."

Phoebe rolled her eyes. "Three witches, a demon and a man who can use a gun. Who do I have to be afraid of in this town when these guys are here with me?" She sighed. "Besides the fact that Aziraphale warded the house against harmful beings before he left?"

She ran a hand through her hair. "We think we know who took her... and Cole mistakenly thought he was going to the Underworld alone."

"Still, you owe it to those babies to be more careful," Veronica admonished. "Who has her? What can I do to help get her back?"

Phoebe rubbed her head. "Anders and Cole are going to the Underworld. Apparently, I'm not allowed to go after my sister."

"No, you're not," Veronica said. "I'll go. Hell, we'll round up a damn army. But you are staying put."

It was a little gratifying to be able to say the same things to someone else that she had heard non-stop from Dick, Logan and Angel when she was pregnant.

"You are not going," Cole said, catching Veronica's remark.

"I can help!" Veronica insisted. "I spent five years fighting with Angel."

She glanced back at Phoebe. "Sorry, sweetie, but the babies have to come first.

"Well at least we're not the only girls he's trying to bench," Savannah muttered to Paige.

Paige rolled her eyes.

"She's my sister."

"And we're not having Phoebe worried over losing you too," Sam said sternly, glancing over his shoulder toward her as he knelt in front of Phoebe. "I can't believe I'm saying this, babe, but Veronica's right."

"You. Pregnant. Staying," Cole said to Phoebe in a tone that would accept no argument. "You two" -- he pointed to Savannah and Paige -- "have no idea how dangerous it is there. And you" -- Veronica's turn -- "no, you are not going."

Someone was probably going to get an earful later about his tone, but right now, she just looked away, clenching her fists.

Savannah gave Cole a look of defiance. "It's not like you can tell me what to do."

She was angry and scared for Piper.

Sam turned and looked at her now, and for all that she looked so different she was so very like his Savannah in some ways.

"No, but I'm asking you," he said gently. "We may need you and what you can do to help Piper some other way. She needs you too, kid, so don't risk yourself for this right now, okay? Please."

"He's right," Paige said. "We can keep researching here."

"Sam and I will go to the Underworld and find Piper," Cole assured Phoebe and the others. "We'll be in and out so fast they won't know what hit them."

Phoebe got up from the couch and moved to hug. "Be Careful, Cole, please. Be careful." She lifted her face to look at him. "I can't lose you to them again."

Sam was already moving toward the entryway, half-hopping as he struggled into his shoes while he walked. "Won't let anything happen to him, I promise."

She pulled him to them as he moved by.

"You, too. You both come back to me safe and sound... or I'm coming down there after you."

"I'm not going to let you lose another sister," Cole murmured as he hugged Phoebe. "We'll be okay, I promise." He hoped he could keep that promise.

He looked at Sam. "Get your damn shoes on," he said. He really wasn't happy about bringing Sam with him, because he didn't want him to get hurt, either.

"You'd better be. Bring Piper back... and yourself and Anders as well." She was trying to be stoic, but her eyes had tears in them anyway.

Sam grunted as, suddenly finding himself in a hug and deprived of the use of his arms, he gave his right foot a little shove and a twist, forcing it past that recalcitrant and slightly broken bit of the sneaker's heel.

"Okay, okay. Lemme just go get armed up." It occurred to him, absurdly, that they had better get back safely, because they hadn't yet childproofed the weapons cabinet. He leaned in and gave Phoebe a quick kiss. "We'll be home in time for dinner," he said, his voice a touch raspy.

Veronica stayed quiet, biding her time. She knew that it was pointless to argue with Cole and Anders. But that didn't mean she was going to listen to them.
